Manhattan Christian High School senior Sam O’Hara recently joined Dave Wooten on the KSKY Morning Show to talk about his experience competing in the Freedom 250 Civics Competition, a nationally recognized event that challenges students on their knowledge of American history, government, and civics.
O’Hara earned his spot in the competition after standing out among thousands of students nationwide. More than 9,000 students took the original qualifying test, but only 200 were invited to advance to the Freedom 250 competition, placing O’Hara among an elite group of young scholars.
Sam told Dave that his mom actually heard about the competition when Governor Greg Gianforte was talking about it on the KSKY Morning Show . . .
When Sam was at the competition in California, he told Dave that he received an unexpected phone call at his hotel . . .
Finally, Sam had some words for kids is age, as well as all Americans . . .
