Did you know that 1 out of 5 students in the Bozeman School District has seriously considered suicide? To be proactive and bring those numbers down, the Bozeman Schools Foundation has launched the Youth Resilience Project. It’s a community-wide initiative to shift culture, expand access, and make resilience, adaptability, well-being, and mental health resources highly visible and more accessible to every Bozeman student.
The Bozeman Schools Foundation also hopes to fund the development of community training modules on Signs of Suicide, Question, Persuade, Refer and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) designed to provide coaches, scout leaders, dance teachers, and other trusted adults in the community with information they need to support the students they work with and care about.
Jenn Lammers, Executive Director of the Bozeman Schools Foundation, spoke with Dave Wooten on the KSKY Morning Show about the Youth Resilience Project and what they’re trying to accomplish with it.
