More About The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention:

AFSP Montana Chapter was founded in 2001 and has been working to educate Montana about suicide prevention, advocate for legislation that will save lives, and support those who’ve experienced loss or who have lived experience. We believe that suicide is preventable, and that with enough people doing the work, spreading the message and stomping out stigma, we can make a difference. As a voluntary organization, our grassroots efforts engage families, mental health professionals, community and local business leaders, school administrators and others interested in preventing suicide.

A new collaboration in Bozeman is giving Bobcat fans a unique way to support Montana State Football while enjoying chef-crafted meals at home. A local kitchen has partnered with the Bobcat Collective to launch the “Bobcat Box,” a nationwide meal program designed to directly benefit student-athletes through NIL opportunities.

Each Bobcat Box features five scratch-made meals inspired by player favorites, including Butter Chicken, Tater Tot Casserole, Bison Chili, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Bobcat Brownies. The initiative not only delivers high-quality, ready-to-eat food but also creates meaningful financial support for players who have chosen to stay and compete in Bozeman.

For every box sold, $40 goes directly to the team. Fans in the Bozeman area can also take part in special pickup events, where they may have the chance to meet players in person. Local pickups generate an additional $40 donation, doubling the impact.

There’s even an option to donate a meal box directly to the players themselves, further strengthening the connection between the team and its supporters.

With an ambitious goal of raising $100,000, the Bobcat Box initiative is more than a meal—it’s a community-driven effort to support Montana State athletes.

Bobcat wide receiver Taco Dowler, Orders Up manager Shawntel, and Three Forks Pie Lady and Orders Up chef Jamie Taylor joined Dave Wooten to talk about this collaberation between The Bobcat Collective and Ordersup! Listen below.

Montana businesses have a valuable, and often underutilized, resource when it comes to workplace safety. Through the Montana Outreach Group, companies across the state can take advantage of a free consultation program designed to identify hazards, improve compliance, and ultimately keep employees safe on the job.

Chris and Sonny from the Montana Outreach Group joined Dave Wooten on the KSKY Morning Show to break down how the program works and why it’s such an important tool for employers—especially small and mid-sized businesses that may not have dedicated safety teams.

https://media-cdn.socastsrm.com/wordpress/wp-content/blogs.dir/3884/files/2026/04/montana-workplace-safety-health.mp3

Sign up at MontanaSafety.com or call 406.494.0324

The consultation program is built around a simple idea: helping, not penalizing. Unlike enforcement inspections, these visits are confidential and focused on education. Consultants will come directly to your workplace, evaluate potential safety risks, and provide practical recommendations tailored to your specific operation. From construction sites to retail spaces, every business can benefit from a fresh set of trained eyes.

Chris and Sonny emphasized that the goal is to prevent accidents before they happen. That includes identifying common issues like improper equipment use, fall hazards, or gaps in training. They also work with employers to build long-term safety programs that protect both workers and the bottom line.

Another key benefit? Peace of mind. By proactively addressing safety concerns, businesses can reduce the risk of injuries, avoid costly downtime, and foster a culture where employees feel valued and protected.

Best of all, getting started is easy. Business owners and managers can sign up for a consultation by visiting MontanaSafety.com. It’s a simple step that can make a lasting difference.

For Montana businesses looking to stay safe, compliant, and prepared, this program is a smart investment in their people and their future.

This year’s bracket featured the top 16 country songs from the 1990s, giving listeners a chance to decide which track stands above the rest. From the opening round to the final matchup, fans showed up in a big way, narrowing the field down to just two iconic songs.

The championship round came down to a showdown between two heavyweights: “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” by Toby Keith and “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks. While both songs have stood the test of time and remain fan favorites, the final result wasn’t particularly close.

With a commanding 305 votes to 185, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” claimed the title of 2026 Music Madness Champion.

Throughout the tournament, excitement remained high as voters participated daily, helping us award $25 gift cards to Kenyon Noble to our daily winners. Those giveaways added even more fun to an already competitive bracket.

We’re also excited to announce that one lucky participant will take home the $500 grand prize, selected from all voters who took part in this year’s tournament. The winner will be announced later this morning.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who voted, followed along, and helped make this year’s Music Madness a success. And of course, thank you to Kenyon Noble for sponsoring and bringing this tournament to life.

Until next year—keep the music playing!

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte joined Dave Wooten on the KSKY Morning Show and part of their discussion was about Montana property taxes. The issue is again in the spotlight, if it ever really went away, following a recent ruling by the Montana Supreme Court that did not go in favor of the governor. Governor Gianforte broke down how the system works and where those tax dollars actually go—offering clarity on an issue that affects nearly every homeowner in the state. Listen below:

Our Montana Senator Steve Daines joined Dave Wooten this morning on the KSKY Morning Show. The conversation covered everything from the having the priviledge to be in the Oval Office to airport security lines and a growing global conflict. Listen below.

https://media-cdn.socastsrm.com/wordpress/wp-content/blogs.dir/3884/files/2026/03/sen-steve-daines-march-26.mp3

Daines shared what it’s like to stand inside the Oval Office, helping shape American policy at the highest level. He described those moments as both humbling and high-stakes—where decisions made in that room ripple far beyond Washington, impacting Montanans and Americans across the country.

But back home, there’s frustration building. One of the biggest concerns we talked about was TSA agents still working without pay during the ongoing Department of Homeland Security funding issues. It’s a situation affecting airports nationwide, with long lines and staffing shortages becoming more common as workers struggle to keep showing up. Daines acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and the need for a resolution that supports those frontline workers.

They also dove into the escalating war with Iran and the growing tension surrounding the Strait of Hormuz—a critical global shipping route. Roughly 20% of the world’s oil flows through that narrow passage, and recent conflict has effectively shut it down, sending shockwaves through energy markets.

So why can’t the U.S. just take control of it?

Daines explained it’s not that simple. The strait is extremely narrow and vulnerable, making it difficult to secure while Iran can still threaten ships using missiles, drones, and coastal attacks—even without a large navy.

Bottom line: this is a complex situation with global consequences.

From Washington power plays to real-world impacts here at home, it was a conversation that reminded us just how connected everything really is.

Jackrabbit Crossing is shaping up to be one of the most significant commercial developments in Belgrade, bringing new shopping, dining, and services to one of the fastest-growing areas in the Gallatin Valley. Located along the busy Jackrabbit Lane corridor, the project is designed as a large mixed-use community where residents can live, work, and shop in one convenient location.

Dave Wooten had the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce on the KSKY Morning Show and they told him some of the restaurants that will be coming to Jackrabbit Crossing.

https://media-cdn.socastsrm.com/wordpress/wp-content/blogs.dir/3884/files/2026/03/belgrade-jackrabbit-crossing-website.mp3

The nearly 200-acre development will be anchored by a 58,000-square-foot Rosauers supermarket, giving residents in Belgrade and the surrounding area another nearby grocery option. Construction on the store is expected to begin in 2025 with a planned opening in 2026.

In addition to the grocery store, Jackrabbit Crossing will feature several popular national brands and everyday conveniences. Planned businesses include Chipotle, Jimmy John’s, Panda Express, Valvoline, and a new coffee house, along with other retail and service options. These additions are expected to create a convenient hub for food, fuel, and quick services for people living or commuting through the rapidly growing Belgrade area.

As new neighborhoods continue to grow around Belgrade, Jackrabbit Crossing is expected to become a major destination for dining, shopping, and daily essentials for local residents and visitors alike.

Once complete, the project will represent another step in Belgrade’s transformation from a small bedroom community into a thriving commercial center in southwest Montana.

During the interview, the governor also addressed his recent proposal to move Montana toward a flat income tax system, outlining why he believes the change would simplify the tax code and provide long-term relief for residents.

Gianforte discussed how both efforts fit into his broader push to lower the tax burden for all Montanans.

KSKY 106.9 has once again cemented its place as one of Montana’s premier radio stations, earning the prestigious honor of being named ‘Montana’s Station of the Year’. The recognition highlights not only the station’s commitment to delivering outstanding programming, but also its deep dedication to serving the Gallatin Valley and the broader Montana community.

For listeners across southwest Montana, KSKY is more than just a frequency on the dial—it’s a trusted voice, a familiar companion, and a hub for local stories, music, and events. Being named Station of the Year is the highest award a station in the state can receive, and it reflects the tireless efforts of KSKY’s team, both on-air and behind the scenes.

The recognition comes on the heels of an impressive run of accolades for the station and its personalities. Morning show duo Dave & Ally, who have become household names across the Bozeman area, were previously awarded Montana Broadcasters of the Year and have also been finalists for that award the past two years. Their show, which blends humor, music, and heartfelt conversations, has also been recognized as Show of the Year—a testament to their natural chemistry and the genuine bond they’ve built with their listeners.

Beyond statewide honors, KSKY has been repeatedly celebrated at the local level. Since 2022, the station has won the ‘Best of Bozeman’ Award for Best Radio Station, a clear reflection of its connection to its community. And since 2017, KSKY’s on-air personalities have consistently been voted ‘Best Radio DJs’ by listeners who appreciate their authenticity, energy, and passion for radio.

Dave & Ally themselves have an unmatched streak of community recognition. For eight consecutive years, beginning in 2017, their morning show has been named ‘Bozeman’s Best Radio Show’ in the annual Bozeman’s Choice Awards. That kind of consistency underscores the deep trust and loyalty they’ve built with their audience—a rare feat in today’s rapidly changing media landscape.

What sets KSKY apart is not only its professional excellence but also its dedication to Montana values. From spotlighting local businesses and nonprofits, to providing up-to-the-minute weather and road reports, to being present at community events large and small, KSKY’s team has made service a cornerstone of its identity. The station’s motto—celebrating life in Montana with great music and great company—rings true in every broadcast.

For listeners, the award is simply confirmation of what they already know: KSKY 106.9 is a station built for Montana, by Montanans. Winning ‘Montana’s Station of the Year’ is both a celebration of past achievements and a springboard into an even brighter future for the station and its loyal audience.

With a track record of excellence, a roster of award-winning personalities, and a community-first spirit, KSKY 106.9 continues to prove why it stands at the very heart of Montana radio.
